-------- AUTHOR: mollyfud TITLE: Episode 4 - The Video Edition - Cool Music Video producer - Muvee AutoProducer DATE: 9/09/2005 01:58:00 AM ----- BODY:

Finally! Finally! Finally! I have the video uploaded (after much stuffing around with Our Media) and its ready to publish it.

I think its really cool. Not just that its of my kids. Not just because I am really liking the music of Brother Love (This track is Summertime). Its the Application that I used to make the Video that's so cool!

Download the video here

(Note you will need the DivX Codec to watch, get it here)

The program is Muvee AutoProducer 4 and what it does is take Video and photo files and puts them together with Audio (normally music) to make a video. Sounds pretty tame right? Wrong. It uses styles to have the movie looking like anything from a Black And White Movie to a Modern High energy music Video. Not only this, it tries to match the cut aways and the video/photos to the style and pace of the music chosen.

I first came across the Technology in AutoSlide Show a program that I got with my Sony Digital camera. It just let you throw some videos, photos, a music file and one of about 8 styles and it would do all the work. This was pretty good but if you had stuff in your video (like lets its my Patrick playing in his cubby house and I have taken a video of the outside, you probably don't want flashes of it in the music video) you didn't want, there was nothing you could do.

Then I found Muvee (AutoSlide uses its engine) and found the full application has the ability to both tell the program to ignore certain sections of the movies and also highlight sections of the video to show as is. This is really powerful although the Application suggests not to over use the features as it takes away from what the engine does.

I hope you enjoy the movie and if you like what you see of movie, go pick up a copy here.

Enjoy, and let me know what you think,

Molly

-------- AUTHOR: mollyfud TITLE: Wheres the video? Liberated Syndication offer for people donating to Katrina Appeal DATE: 9/06/2005 09:51:00 AM ----- BODY:
Well I have been talking about this video for a while and yet it (and a latest show) haven't turned up (sorry to 10 or so people (or Bots)) that are subscribed. I have been hosting my shows at Ourmedia (a free media hosting service) but am having all sorts of problems uploading my video file.

As soon as it works, I will have the show up. One alternative may be Liberated Syndication. They have podcast hosting and should cover my needs. They also have an offer for anyone donating $50 to the Red Cross to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. I might talk to the Wife about this option. Its a great cause and if your after a podcast hosting service, these guys could be for you! (note haven't checked out there full service yet).

Happy Podcasting and #@$$ video uploading ;-),
Molly

-------- AUTHOR: mollyfud TITLE: Is divx a valid format to distribute a video DATE: 9/01/2005 01:26:00 PM ----- BODY:
Have the video ready to go but not sure the best format to put it out in. The format it was originally created in was MPG but is about 100mb. I ran it through DIVX and it is much smaller (40mb). Have also done it in a format that is divx but with formatting and stuff for an iRiver (by running it through iRiverter) and its about 20mb.

So I want to know, is the Divx format fine (think it is v6. Not sure if it will work in Windows media player).

Let me know. Email me at mollyfud [at] gmail [Dot] com or leave a comment.

TIA
Molly

Show coming soon! Its been a while (breaking Molly's rule number 2 of podcasting, keep the shows regular!) Also trying (if I get the Million and one things I want to do under control) to do a special video presentation using a really cool tool that I found a while ago (just got to dig it out again). It is way cool and I have done a few videos in the past (especially for family). Just have to get all the legals worked out (read, need a good Podsafe song to go with it). The only thing is the file could be large, so watch out for it. Talk to you all soon. Molly

Had problems with my iRiver recording from the External Mic source (if anyone has any hints about the Ext. Mic on a iRiver H320). Recorded this episode with the internal mic on the way home from work on a Friday night. So here is episode one! Needs to improve!
